NLC Louisiana Releases Strategic Plan for 2014-2015

In the fall of 2014, the NLC Louisiana leadership team launched a strategic planning process to help us grow our chapter and ensure a healthy, focused future.

The identified mission of the strategic plan is to accelerate and support its members’ progressive careers, projects and goals while strengthening Louisiana’s progressive infrastructure.

The leadership team developed three goals to achieve our mission. These include: 1) create a solidified community and lasting value for everyone involved, 2) professionalize and standardize operations with ensuring transparency, and 3) improve brand awareness in the community. As a result, we hope to have these expected outcomes:

  • NLC Louisiana will be a known and sought-after organization;
  • NLC Louisiana will have a growing applicant pool demanding less effort from recruitment team;
  • Local companies and organizations will seek to support the Louisiana chapter, financially and in other ways;
  • Board Members will have clear roles, responsibilities, in addition to by-laws and expectations to hold everyone accountable;
  • All of NLC Louisiana will understand the direction of the organization, the opportunities available to them, and the ways in which they can assist; and
  • Alumni, mentors, speakers and advisory board will understand the value of NLC beyond what it offers for the fellows .
